Sometimes there is no brief. There are situations and circumstances, stages of transition and moments of contemplation. At intervals like these the simple repetition of daily life becomes enough: the repetition of season, crop and cycle, of daily ritual, habit, and the contentment found in each and every daily chore. At these points it is possible to draw on the things close to hand and take enjoyment in the detail of the simple monotony of routine.
