Rationed - the exhibition

The exhibition Rationed toured to LA Joaillerie by Mazlo, in Paris and was curated within a stunning vaulted room. This space reflected the images of Anderson Shelters, referenced within the exhibition's supporting poem, which can be found on the gallery page. The ‘shadow display boxes’ invited the viewer into an intimate exchange, providing mystery and magnification, so the works could be viewed from different angles.
Each showcase contained an excerpt selected from the diaries of Lily Pond, with consideration of the pieces it supported. The diary entries were written with somewhat English reserve, however, each offers an insight into the daily life of the wartime wife and mother, during the Blitz of 1940.
