Utilising a bakelite escutcheon plate as a canvas, or backdrop, a vintage gold brooch has been reframed, given a new life, with recognition of the skill of its original maker.
Within the jewellery trade, most unwanted items are simply melted down. I felt the need to celebrate the work of the original maker, while creating a contemporary wearable piece.
