A number of years ago I was left some vintage hair rollers. These steel components have, until now, sat waiting to find their new purpose.
This steel element, now repurposed, beautifully frames the 18ct wire filigree, created by forming and laser-welding together fine gold spirals. The central steel bar around which the hair was once wound, now provides a bale for the silver chain to run through. A delicate ammonite is suspended from the bottom of the steel frame.
