Created from the copper section of a watering-can rose, this brooch symbolises growth, nurturing and fertility. A suggestion of seeds is illustrated by a ring of smoky quartz, set in silver. These emphasize the irregularity of the original manufacture, highlighting the off-set drilled holes. The reverse is framed in a patchwork of tiny tin pieces and displays the patina of many years of gardening.
